November 2010 tax bill reported back

The Finance and Expenditure Committee has reported to Parliament on the Taxation (Tax Administration and Remedial Matters) Bill, which was introduced in November 2010. The bill proposes changes that will abolish gift duty, provide more flexibility around the circumstances in which taxpayer information can be released by Inland Revenue, and for the sharing of this information with other government agencies. It also proposes changes to improve the tax disputes procedure and increase the flexibility of the tax pooling rules. For more information see the bill as reported back and the officials’ report on submissions received on the bill.
