Tax legislation enacted

Legislation introduced in the Taxation (Annual Rates, Taxpayer Assessment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill has received Royal assent. The two acts emanating from the bill - the Taxation (Taxpayer Assessment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and the Taxation (Annual Rates of Income Tax 2001-02) Act - were signed yesterday by the Governor-General.
