Government responds to inquiry recommendations

In a report tabled in Parliament today the Government has responded to the recommendations of last year's parliamentary inquiry into the powers and operations of the Inland Revenue Department. The previous Finance and Expenditure Committee began its inquiry in April last year and reported to the then Government in October. The present Government has accepted the bulk of the 27 recommendations, reserving a decision on two and rejecting one.
