Reviewing the definitions for Child Support

Is a 183 day count a suitable period of time for determining eligibility for Child Support purposes? In what situations should a person overseas for a longer period still be deemed to be New Zealand resident?

I think 183 days is a good threshold but also the payment, based on the annual amount, should be pro rata on the amount of time they spend in NZ.

If the receiving parent can afford international travel, then perhaps they have access to more income than being disclosed.

I think 183 days is right, but also the annual amount be pro rata
