Reviewing the definitions for Child Support

What is a minimum amount of money for a child to be considered financially independent for Child Support purposes? What factors should be considered when determining the amount? Should the amount be regularly updated?

If they are truly independent they will be living on their own, supporting themselves. This is almost impossible in Auckland, so I'm not sure how relevant this one actually is.

It would be a diffident amount in different regions given the cost of accommodation, transport to work and food.

I think a living wage would be a good start, but if they were out there managing on their own you would think both parents would help them out if needed.

This will need to be a sliding figure. I thought 30 hours was suitable. How about aligning it as an income of at least equal to the JobSeeker's benefit for a single person at any given time?
